One Arm In
A short rhyme for getting dressed, written for this site.
One arm in and two arms through,Pop my head out, peek-a-boo!One sock, two socks, left and right,Now I’m dressed and feeling bright.
Why it helps
Mornings go wrong when a toddler goes limp halfway through a T-shirt. This rhyme gives each step its own line, and the peek-a-boo in the middle is the part most children wait for.
How to use it
Say each line only as you do that step. Pause before “peek-a-boo” and let your child’s face appear first.
Ask your child
- Which sock goes on first today?
- Can you find your other arm?
